Repeat Prescriptions

Repeat prescriptions must be agreed between you and a Doctor during a face-to-face consultation.

Repeat prescriptions can be ordered in the following ways:

bullet

follow this link to clickhere You will need to register first (details on our news page)

bullet

by signing repeat dispensing consent form

bullet

by handing in a prescription counterfoil / order form at the reception desk

bullet

by posting the signed counterfoil to the surgery

bullet

by telephoning the surgery between 9.00 am and 5.30pm

Please do not book an appointment with a doctor if only a repeat prescription is required. If you include a stamped addressed envelope with the counterfoil, we will post the prescription out to you, or you can ask one of the local Pharmacists to collect the prescription and deliver medication to your home. Please give 48 hours notice when ordering a repeat prescription. a doctor reviews your prescription items on a regular basis. Sometimes you may be asked to make an appointment to discuss the review or change of medication might be suggested in a note.

Travel Advice and Vaccination

Courses of most travel vaccines should be completed well before the actual travel date to allow immunity to develop. To ensure you are fully covered, you must make your first appointment with the nurse 6-8 weeks before travel. please plan ahead, because immunisation providing adequate cover cannot be given at short notice.

Good advice can be found on many websites such as www.fitfortravel.nhs.uk

Home visits

One of our receptionists will ask for details of the problem - the doctors have asked them to do this in order to help in identifying the most urgent problems. It will be impossible to give an accurate time for doctor's arrival but the majority of visits will be made after morning surgery usually between,12.30 and 2.30 pm on the day the visit is requested.

The doctors regard home visiting as a very important part of their work but respectfully ask that visits only be requested in emergency or if the patient is genuinely too ill to travel to the surgery. Time spent in cars is frustrating for the doctor and wasteful for other patients who also need to be seen.

Interpreting Service

If you would like an interpreter to attend your consultation. please tell reception when you book your appointment.

Patient Choice

If you and your GP decide that you need to see a specialist for further treatment, you can now choose where to have your treatment from a list of hospitals or clinics. please discuss with your GP if you want to find out more - full details are on the NHS website www.nhs.uk/England/Choice
